There was a time when truth was not treated like a crime. There was a time when people could lovingly correct one another. When a friend could say, “What you’re doing is wrong,” and it was understood as care not attack. When parents correct their children. When elders guided the young. When honesty was not labeled as bullying. Today, many are afraid to speak. Afraid of being sued. Afraid of being misunderstood. Afraid of being called names. Afraid of legal threats for simply stating what is factual. And so, silence has become safer than truth. But silence has consequences. When we stop correcting what is wrong, wrong becomes normalized. When we refuse to challenge lies, lies become powerful. When we stay quiet out of fear, deception grows bold. A society cannot thrive where truth is punished and falsehood is rewarded. This is not about cruelty. This is not about public shaming. This is not about mocking or humiliating anyone. This is about courageous love. ...
