“The Silent Crisis Behind Closed Doors: How Family Greed Is Destroying the Lives of Our Elders” By FaJoP
When we walk past a homeless person on the street, we often assume we know their story — addiction, bad choices, unemployment, misfortune. But the truth is far more complex. Many of these people once owned homes, had savings, raised families, and lived full lives.
So what happened?
One word: Family.
Or more accurately ~ the wrong family member with the wrong intentions.
The Pattern No One Wants to Talk About
It usually starts with a small health issue ~ not a terminal illness, not a fatal condition, just mild memory loss, fatigue, or aging. The parent is still alive, aware, and capable. But the moment a child, spouse, daughter-in-law, or son-in-law notices their slight weakness, something dark begins.
Instead of protecting them, some relatives begin planning.
Not planning care…
Not planning safety…
Not planning healing…
They begin planning inheritance.
The Performance of the “Good Child”
To the public, they pretend to be caring:
• They place the parent in a care facility.
• They visit for pictures.
• They cry fake tears.
• They speak softly for attention and praise.
But behind the scenes:
• They seize homes.
• They sell property.
• They empty bank accounts.
• They forge documents.
• They kick the parent out of their own home.
All because they believe the parent will die soon.
But life has its own timing.
Some parents live many years longer than the greedy expected.
And by then, all the stolen money is gone.
And Then Comes the Final Betrayal
When the money is finished and the greedy family member can no longer pay for the care facility, they abandon the parent.
They leave them without a home.
Without support.
Without dignity.
And society sees the parent on the street and assumes they failed in life.
But the truth is:
They were failed by their own family.
Real Men and Real Women Do Not Steal from the Elderly
A real man or woman:
• Works hard.
• Builds their own wealth.
• Prays for their parents to live long.
• Honors their family.
• Never fights for what they did not buy.
Anyone who waits for someone to die so they can inherit is not strong — they are weak.
Anyone who kicks elders out of their homes to claim property is not loving — they are dangerous.
And anyone who plots to own what they never purchased is living with the mindset of a murderer — the intention to benefit from another person’s death.
We Must Start Asking Ourselves Hard Questions
• Why do we allow children to kick elderly parents out of their homes?
• Why do we allow caregivers to isolate and manipulate vulnerable adults?
• Why are elders losing everything they worked for because someone else wants quick riches?
• Why do we look away when we see injustice?
• How many of the homeless today are actually victims of inheritance abuse?
A Call to Humanity
Let the elderly remain in their homes.
Let them stay with people they love.
Let them recover in familiar environments.
Let them enjoy the life they built.
Family greed is one of the silent killers of our time.
It destroys trust.
It destroys dignity.
It destroys lives.
And it must be exposed.
